Andy Ly, Director of Humanitarian Operations, Messengers of Compassion

Born and raised in Hue, Vietnam, Andy Ly's life was shaped by resilience and sacrifice. Following the Vietnam War, his family lost everything. As a young man, he attempted to flee Vietnam in search of freedom but was captured, an experience that profoundly influenced his appreciation for opportunity and human dignity. 

Despite significant obstacles, Andy built a successful career and eventually became Co–Vice President of a gold exchange company. After immigrating to the United States, he once again started over while remaining deeply connected to the needs of vulnerable communities in Vietnam and abroad. 

Together with his wife, Huong, Andy helped transform a small scholarship effort into a broad humanitarian network serving orphaned and abandoned children, individuals with severe illnesses and disabilities, leprosy communities, elderly individuals without family support, students facing financial hardship, disaster victims, and people experiencing homelessness.

Often described as the organization's executor, Andy oversees operational planning, resource distribution, and accountability efforts. He works diligently behind the scenes to ensure that donations are distributed responsibly, that families receive meaningful support, and that every project is carried through with integrity and transparency.
