Huong Nguyen, COO, Messengers of Compassion

Born and raised in the countryside outside Da Nang, Vietnam, Huong Nguyen experienced firsthand the hardships that followed the Vietnam War. After her family lost everything, she spent her childhood helping support her parents and eight siblings, including selling lottery tickets on the streets.

Through perseverance and strong communication skills, Huong built a successful career and eventually became Co–Vice President of a gold exchange company in Vietnam. After immigrating to the United States, she began a new chapter while maintaining close ties to the communities she left behind. What began as fundraising efforts to provide scholarships for orphaned children and support the construction of a local orphanage grew into decades of humanitarian service. 

Today, Huong helps lead initiatives that support orphaned and abandoned children, children with serious medical conditions and disabilities, leprosy communities, elderly individuals living alone, patients facing overwhelming medical expenses, disaster victims, and people experiencing homelessness.

As the primary communicator of the organization, Huong works closely with donors, community leaders, healthcare providers, and local partners to organize resources and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.
